The Manor House at Chantry was a wreck when we first looked at it. Open to the elements for 3 years it had suffered the weather and was in a ruinous state. The client lived in Shanghai and had little time to spend dealing with the property, so we were given full responsibility to renovate and breath life into the old building.

Due to its dilapidated state we needed to ensure the property was made safe and had to guarantee that all structural elements that existed were satisfactory before commencement. The build was started in the winter months so a full cladding scaffold system was introduced in order for our team to work in all conditions to ensure a smooth flow of progress, as was the client’s desire.

Every care was taken to deliver what the client had wanted, and regular Skype conversations kept them up to date with progress. The house needed plenty of love, and with our local suppliers and team of experts we had to put together all the elements of a period property and also provide a modern-specification home for our clients.

Again, under the responsibility of McIntosh DBR the project was planned, designed, and finished to the client’s satisfaction. The outcome was a glorious family home renovated just as the client had requested, considerately finished and all the expectations were delivered.

Several outbuildings were also renovated and the established gardens were worked on during the process to ensure a full-package delivery upon the return of the clients to the UK.
